The Impact of a Large Scale Print

Winston in 24x36

Why print?

Printing a photo brings it to life!

These portrait sessions with your four legged friend are designed with larger scale printing in mind. These will not be the types of images you'll want to keep buried in your phone or on a USB drive that will get lost in a junk drawer.

I offer an assortment of printing options in many sizes, from modern high-definition glossy metal, to sophisticated canvas hung in a float frame, to gift prints for your friends and family. You will be able to select and order prints directly from your session's online album.

For custom coffee table and keepsake albums, I will work with you to determine the best options and arrangements to display your cherished images in your home or office.

  • WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Pawsome Portraits by Meech Creative LLC is located in Frederick, MD! The portrait services I offer are provided locally in the region, but yes, travel throughout Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and southern Pennsylvania is always an option.
  • WHAT IS INCLUDED IN MY SESSION?
Once you have decided to work with me, there are a few more steps that we will go through. DESIGN & PLANNING We will discuss exactly what you would like to achieve on the day of your photo session and how you would like to display your artwork afterward. PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION Your experience will be completely unique to you. If booking a Contemporary Classic session, your portrait session will take place at a location of your choosing, or from my list of known areas. Color Pop sessions last about 40 minutes, Contemporary Classic sessions last roughly 60 minutes and have more distractions to deal with. We will not rush through either! IMAGE REVEAL & ORDERING After I have culled down your full sessions images to a more manageable proofing amount, you will be provided a link to your online gallery. This is the time that you make your favorite image selections based on the number allotted in your package and decide which you would like printed. I will edit those images to perfection, and you will be able to order prints directly from your album. You will receive your online ordered items within 7-10 days. Smaller photographic prints will be sent to you via mail. Larger pieces may be hand-delivered or couriered. Digital images will be made available for immediate download.
  • HOW DO I SCHEDULE?
Scheduling is very simple! When you've decided on the style of session you'd like, you will click "Book Now!". We will then schedule a time to speak to go over details, chat about your pets, discuss what you hope to get out of the session and to review samples, products, my contract and pricing. A deposit is due at the time of online booking to secure a time & date, and any remainder is due the day of your session.
  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I BOOK?
A lot, actually! One item of which will be a huge thank you email for booking the session! I will then confirm the studio space! That will be followed up by a contract and digital / print rights release forms to be signed electronically via Adobe Sign. No need to print anything out or bring to the session, that is all done online. It sounds scarier than it actually is! And of course, anytime you have a question about anything regarding your upcoming session, I am just a text, email, or phone call away! But we will chat prior to your session to solidify details and make sure we're good to go!
  • HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE?
Based on the session you choose and that session's availability, you can schedule at least 14 days in advance, and as far out as 60 days. The Color Pop sessions are available to be scheduled most weekends at Lockhouse Studios in Frederick, MD up to two weeks in advance. Contemporary Classic sessions are shot outdoors on location in "golden hours" of 7AM-10AM and 4PM-8PM and the only requirement is decent weather. Powder & Sport sessions are scheduled in groups of 5 (five) and those dates will be posted on the site and in the booking calendar when available. Special efforts to schedule sooner may be made for terminally ill or elderly pets.
  • WHAT KINDS OF PRODUCTS TO PRINT ON DO YOU OFFER?
I offer a variety of options of wall art, albums and prints. All print orders are filled online and handled by a professional lab that I work directly with which produces high-quality work and offers professional framing. Albums are custom designed by me, and depending on options chosen are printed and assembled by one of a few companies I work with that specialize in photo albums. Examples of albums are provided to those interested. What do I like? I love high-gloss metal prints.
  • WHAT DOES MY PET NEED TO KNOW? WHAT IF THEY MISBEHAVE?
Your pet is not required to know anything! For the example; the Contemporary Classic outdoor sessions, it is helpful to have a pet that knows how to sit or stand still while I move around them to set up a shot, and while their handler is several feet away. If the pet needs to remain leashed I will remove that in post. For all sessions some helpful and photogenic skills are perch (paws up on an object), head down on the ground, the animal holding an object in their mouth, paw/wave, stand up on back legs and recall. Dogs that will play fetch, and animals that are reliable off leash/at liberty make for some great photos. WHAT IF THEY MISBEHAVE? Animals will be animals sometimes. They keep us humble. Even if your pup won't hold a stay, I can still find ways to create beautiful images for you. FOR POWDER SESSIONS: Powder photography is a very specialized medium to use in photographs. Due to the complexity of the sessions, I do require that animals have a moderate-to-high level of competency in agility or similar sport. Frequently, the higher the level of training, the better the photos. If you're unsure of whether a powder session is suitable for your animal, contact me to discuss. I can review footage and if the requisite skillset is not quite there, I can provide resources to help you train for a future session.
  • DO YOU SELL COMMERCIAL PRINTS OR LICENSING?
Yes, very much so! Most if not all of my work is available for purchase as display prints to hang on the walls of your home, as well as for commissioned work or for commercial licensing to be displayed publicly such as in a place of business lobby. Reach out to me discuss usage, availability and rates as well as ideas to add some color pop to a drab office setting.
  • FOR THE GEAR HEADS, WHAT ARE YOU SHOOTING WITH?
I am Canon all the way. Shooting primary with the EOS R5, and the EOS R as a backup. Lenses are the RF24-70mm f2.8, the RF70-200mm f2.8, the Samyang RF85mm f1.4 and the RF24-105mm F4. Strobes are Westcott FJ200 & FJ400 series. My home edit suite is comprised of the full Adobe Creative Suite, utilizing Lightroom Classic and Photoshop for image finishing. I use Fundy for album and card designs as well as room layout samples.
  • DO YOU HAVE A DOG?
Surprisingly you're not the first person to ask this! Sadly, we lost our Rachel just about a year ago. She was 10 years old and had developed an inoperable mass in her abdomen. She was the best girl, and we miss her very much!
