Theatre & Production Photography in Maryland
Performing Arts organizations such as Maryland Ensemble Theatre, Other Voices Theatre, Ovations, The Old Opera House, STARS Performing Arts, McDaniel College, and schools in the FCPS district have trusted me with their production photography and videography for years. Performing Arts Photography From A Journalistic POV
Theatre often means limited light, no opportunity for flash, and is fast paced. Due to this, I have honed a ‘photojournalistic’ aesthetic. You can see this from my work documenting performances in theater, dance, and concerts. My eye and focus as a photographer has been shaped through the lens of theater, and the need to capture powerful moments of conflict and connection to convey story in a single image.

I’m not only looking at who is on stage—I’m watching for the story being told. When
those moments align, I’m able to create images that reflect not just how a scene is transpiring, but what each character is expressing.
'Media Days' Are Not Just A Sportsball Photoshoot
If your show opens on a Friday, take the Tuesday of Tech Week and book a 'Media Day' for the show. We'll photograph the lead characters for portraits before the run starts. Then we do a production shoot during the run and full cast photos after bows!
